As mentioned above, public transport is organised under the umbrella of Budapest GO. All information about the metro, buses, trains and trams etc. is provided by them, so be sure to check them out.

Taxis are common in Budapest, and it's important to use a licensed taxi.

Taxis can be hailed on the street, found at designated taxi ranks or booked by telephone. Always make sure the taxi has a yellow number plate and company logo.

The basic fare is HUF 700 (~€2.17), with additional charges depending on the distance.

Most taxis accept credit cards, but it's wise to check with the driver beforehand.

There are minute rate car rental options where you just use a mobile app to book a car, it is convenient and you only have to pay for the ride there. There are several options to choose from. Wigo, Greengo, Mol Limo.

Renting a car in Budapest is generally not recommended for exploring the city due to traffic and parking problems. However, if you plan to travel outside the city, cars can be rented at the airport or at various locations in the city. 

Budapest has embraced cycling as a mode of transport through its public bike-sharing system, Mol Bubi:

The Mol Bubi system allows users to rent bikes from various stations around the city. You can pay by credit or debit card.

There are options for renting scooters in the city like: Lime and Tier.
